My shop is in the garage.  But on a lovely day, my workbench rolls outside and I’m working under my new “market umbrella”.  All I need now is a cappuccino!

So…a great way to start this blog.  I was driving in the country and passed a farm with what looked like a bunch of downed walnut trees.  I don’t like to “bother” people, but I thought I might as well see if they would let me have some.  The farmer came out looking a little wary, but after a few words about “carving and some woodworking…” he said; “hell, take what you want!”   Score!  This is the result.  Three huge slabs and umpteen gorgeous sections for bowl making.  Lesson: don’t be too shy about at least asking…
